Eco friendly, zero waste and organic orientated event management company for sustainable event organisation, based in Basel, Switzerland.
Rak Sustainable Events is a sustainable event management company that focuses on the ethical organisation of corporate events.
We design events, which are fully sustainable, eco-friendly and zero waste orientated. We engage local suppliers and encourage the use of vegetarian, vegan, organic and handmade products. Our goal is to support the circular economy within the event management sector; from agriculture production, food making process, making the most of the resources and keeping products and materials in use, while minimising waste. We want to create unique experiences for the audience, participants and clients, raising awareness of a more sustainable and mindful lifestyle. We are aware that big changes do not happen overnight but we can start from within ourselves, making small contributions to our surrounding community, serving as an inspiration to shape stronger environmentally friendly behaviour.
WE DO NOT SUPPORT
SINGLE USE PLASTIC.
Every year millions metric tons of plastic ends up in our ocean, destroying ecosystems. We use alternative solutions which are reusable and recyclable in order to equip our event services.
MEET THE CREATIVE INDIVIDUALS
FOUNDER & EVENT MANAGER
After finishing her Master Studies in Sport and Olympic Management, Sanja became actively involved in the organisation of Olympic Solidarity, European and world sporting events. Operating in such open-minded and engaging environments allowed her to acquire relevant experience in project and event management. An important element of her early career included engaging in the development of educational projects for youth to which she has given support and contributed to the actions that target social inclusion, health, social development and sustainable changes at European and local levels. Such experience, gained through a variety of workshops and projects, helped her to hone her professional skills and establish a personal connection with the type of environment she wants to live in and play an active part in shaping. This enthusiasm led her to upgrade and update her skills by completing additional studies at the ZHAW in Event Management and becoming more involved in the organisation of events in Basel. More recently, she has been actively working on developing the RAK concept whose ideals will not only support the local community but will also shape and contribute towards creating a healthier and stronger environment simply by changing some old behaviour patterns.
Sanja is very passionate about sport and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. She likes running along the Rhine, playing badminton, beach volleyball, tennis and squash, as well as hiking in the mountains. As an active Vipassana meditator, yogi and vegetarian, she has learned the importance of maintaining an inner peace and a balance with nature.
Tanja holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Urban Development and Quality of Life. After specialising in Sustainability at the Polytechnic University of Milan, she moved to the USA and has been concentrating on projects that are incorporating strategies and human rights in order to provide sustainable solutions for better living in the cities. Her contribution provides valuable support in bringing and integrating sustainable measurements to the RAK event management concept and vision. Her transatlantic consultancy is appreciated and is used for all our event planning. In her free time Tanja practises meditation and her big passion is art and design where she likes to express her creative and philosophical insight with abstract painting.
